Forza Silicon, IBM to Produce CMOS Image Sensors

Forza Silicon Corp. of Pasadena, Calif., and IBM announced today they will collaborate to develop CMOS image sensor chips using IBM’s CMOS Image Sensor Foundry (CIMG) technology and to characterize IBM’s image sensor technology. IBM’s CIMG foundry, based in Essex Junction, Vt., combines 180- and 130-nm copper process-signal integrated design services and products with the "Ready for IBM Technology" foundry program, under which IBM customers may ensure that their products are compatible with IBM semiconductor technology. Forza Silicon is a fabless semiconductor provider of mixed-signal integrated circuit design services and products specializing in CMOS image sensors, including ultrahigh resolution imagers for medical, broadcasting, scientific and military applications and sensors for digital cameras, cellular camera phones and other consumer devices.
