Aculight Receives SBIR Fiber Laser Awards

Aculight Corp. of Bothell, Wash., has obtained four Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) awards — totaling $2 million — that will enable the company to enhance the capacities of its high-peak-power fiber lasers, including those in its Picasso line and eye-safe Er:Yb lasers. These improvements, primarily for the military and aerospace fields, are expected to have particular impacts on undersea communications and ladar applications for the US Navy and Air Force.
