EPIC Releases European Laser Market Analysis

The European Photonics Industry Consortium (EPIC) has announced the publication of “Laser Applications in Europe.” This market study is the compilation of findings from a workshop, interviews with experts, field research and analyses of recent publications. The workshop, held in Dresden, Germany, in November 2005, focused on strategies for doubling the market volume of high-power industrial laser sales by 2010.

EPIC, the European Laser Institute and Kienbaum Management Consultants International GmbH conducted the research to identify and evaluate opportunities and challenges for the European laser community with regard to macro- and microprocessing, marking, engraving and biophotonics. The report includes representative examples, advantages of future developments and trends for each field of application. It identifies the relevant markets and compares the lasers’ characteristics with market requirements to determine the most appropriate combinations.
