Leica Microsystems, Koheras Forge Agreement

Leica Microsystems CMS GmbH of Wetzlar, Germany, and Koheras A/S of Birkerød, Denmark, have signed a nonexclusive license agreement on several of Leica’s patent rights related to the use of supercontinuum light sources in various applications. Under the arrangement, Koheras will have the right to produce and sell the light sources patented by Leica and will supply Leica with light sources for use in confocal microscope systems. Koheras also will be entitled to market the technology for applications other than microscopy.
