Direct Global Power Creates Subsidiary

Direct Global Power Inc. of Niskayuna, N.Y., has formed a subsidiary, Prism Solar Technologies Inc., to commercialize its patented holographic-based photovoltaic module technology. The entity was formed in a joint venture with Genesis Solar LLC of Tucson, Ariz., developers of the technology, which can reduce the number of solar cells required. The partners will manufacture a solar module that incorporates Direct Global’s holographic planar concentrator technology. The subsidiary, which plans to begin manufacturing in 2006, has secured seed financing and has begun work on second-generation prototypes.
