Lockheed to Buy CTI
BETHESDA, Md., Sept. 8 -- Lockheed Martin Corp. announced today a definitive agreement to acquire Coherent Technologies Inc., a Louisville, Colo., supplier of laser-based remote sensing systems.
Coherent Technologies performs research, product development and systems integration for products designed to maintain continuous, real-time operations and to provide information regarding target identification and hazardous meteorological events.
Bob Stevens, Lockheed Martin's chairman, president and CEO, said, "Coherent's talented employees and well-recognized technological expertise in the areas of laser-based remote sensing systems will enable Lockheed Martin to provide expanded capabilities to our core group of customers."
Lockheed Martin Space Systems, Denver, Colo., will manage the Coherent Technologies business. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The transaction is expected to close later this year, pending customary approvals.
