NanoOpto Corp., of Somerset, N.J., which uses nanofabrication technology to produce optical components, announced that Andrew Savadelis has joined the company as its chief financial officer. Prior to joining NanoOpto, Savadelis was CFO, senior vice president of finance and a board member at
Alfacell Corp., where he was responsible for closing the single largest financing in the company's history. NanoOpto also announced that Richard E. Hegberg, senior vice president of worldwide sales at
ATI Technologies, has joined its board.

Agilent Technologies Inc., of Palo Alto, Calif., and Franklin, Mass.,- based
Speedline Technologies Inc. are collaborating in the lead-free process development and characterization of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs). Speedline, a maker of capital equipment for electronics-manufacture process solutions, will use Agilent's lead-free-ready inspection systems in a series of experiments to document best practices associated with the transition to legally mandated lead-free manufacturing.
