Microvision Inc., a Bothell, Wash., maker of displays and imaging systems, announced it has received a $4.4 million contract from General Dynamics C4 Systems to advance the development of a helmet-mounted display for potential use in the Air Warrior Block 3 system for helicopter crews. The system is comprised of an aviator helmet system, microclimate cooling unit and voice/data communication capability. General Dynamics is under contract with the US Army's product manager, Air Warrior, of Huntsville, Ala., to develop and integrate the system.
