Taos and Catalyst Form Marketing Pact

Catalyst Semiconductor Inc. of Sunnyvale, Calif., and Texas Advanced Optoelectronics Solutions Inc. (Taos) of Plano, Texas, have signed a nonexclusive agreement to promote each others' systems to global solid-state illumination customers. Advances in LED and organic LED technology are enabling solid-state illumination to replace the lighting in traffic lights, mobile phones, digital still cameras, liquid crystal display backlights and other applications. The US Department of Energy projects that the technology will decrease energy consumption for lighting by 29 percent by 2025.
