Edmund Optics Launches 2nd China Facility in Shenzhen
BARRINGTON, N.J., April 12 -- Edmund Optics announced this week the opening of a second Chinese manufacturing location in the southern town of Shenzhen. This new 2400-square-foot facility will be dedicated to optical design and cleanroom assembly. Jeremy Chang, who has a PhD in Optics from Imperial College, University of London, England, will direct both the Shenzhen and Shanghai facilities.
Chang previously worked for Concord Camera Company as director of New Product & Optical Development (2001-2004); and for Kodak Haking Optical Company as general manager (1994-2001). He will develop Edmund's manufacturing operations in China, including facility enhancements to produce optomechanical assemblies. Several new optical design engineers will be hired at the Shenzhen site to complement current design and testing capabilities in Shanghai.
