Dynasil Acquires Optical Components Business

Dynasil Corp. of America, a West Berlin, N.J., fabricator of optical blanks from synthetic fused silica, fused quartz and other optical materials for the laser, space, semiconductor and optical components industries, has purchased Optometrics LLC of Ayer, Mass. The acquired company supplies optical components, including lenses, laser optics, thin-film filters, monochromators, diffraction gratings, and specialized optical systems and software. Its previous owners, who have signed two-year renewable employment contracts, will continue to lead the business, which will be known as Optometrics Corp. Dynasil has been a long-term supplier to the company.
