Companies Ally to Develop Thin-Film Processes

To advance thin-film processes for a new line of precision optics box coating systems, Advanced Technology Coatings Ltd. (ATC) of Plympton, UK, and Satis Vacuum Industries AG of Baar, Switzerland, have formed a collaborative agreement. ATC has placed an order for a Satis 1200TLF PDS box coater. Drawing on expertise in ophthalmic coating, the system incorporates features such as an integrated plasma deposition source. The entities expect to realize deposition hardware that can supply the repeatability, process control and yield demands of the coating industry.
