eMagin Corp., a manufacturer of active matrix OLED microdisplays, today unveiled a UXGA (ultra-extended graphics array) display showing 5.7 million picture elements at the Night Vision 2004 Conference, being held this week in London. The ultrahigh-resolution display uses eMagin's bundled fiber optic elements to couple four SVGA displays into a single UXGA display. Night vision systems equipped with eMagin OLED displays are also being exhibited at the conference by companies including BFi OPTiLAS, DRS, Elbit and Thales. eMagin is also demonstrating commercial products by Total Fire Group and Liteye.    . . .    J. P. Sercel Associates Inc. (JPSA), a provider of laser and robotics systems and laser microprocessing services, has announced the availability of complex thin-film patterning with submicron resolution in its Hollis, N.H., manufacturing facility. Thin-film patterning is accomplished with masks, using direct-write methods or direct-writing with galvanometer scanning. The precise energy density and ultraviolet wavelength required for the process is dependent on the film material and thickness, the substrate and the adhesion method between film and substrate.    . . .    Nanobac Life Sciences Inc. has announced a manufacturing agreement with Medicorp Inc., a Canadian manufacturer and distributor of immunodiagnostic and microbiology products, to produce two blood tests for the detection of nanobacteria. Nanobac is transferring production of its Nano-Capture ELISA assay and the Nano-Sero IgG ELISA assay from its Nanobac Oy research laboratory in Kuopio, Finland, to Medicorp in preparation for FDA clinical trials and expanded distribution.    . . .    Thorlabs announced it has started a direct sales service in the UK and Ireland for its photonics products in conjunction with the release of a new catalog and that it has reduced prices by more than 20 percent for nonelectrical products. Its UK-based sales center is located in Ely, Cambridgeshire, at the new Thorlabs production unit for nanopositioning, optical tables and vibration isolation product lines. Thorlabs operates in the US, Japan, Germany and Sweden. Products includes optomechanic and opto electronic components, lasers, motioncontrol systems, test and measurement instrumentation, optical tables and workstations.
