Jenoptik Acquires R&D Company, Innovavent

In Germany, Jenoptik Laser, Optik, Systeme GmbH of Jena has purchased all shares of the start-up research and development company Innovavent GmbH of Göttingen. Focusing on the integration of solid-state lasers in systems and equipment for micromaterials processing, the acquired company develops methods, processes and optical systems for laser applications in science and industry. It purchases laser beam sources and high-performance lenses for use in these systems from Jenoptik.

Jenoptik intends to invest significantly in the company, and it is anticipated that Innovavent, which has cooperative arrangements with international companies and universities, will serve as a link between the development of technologies at Jenoptik and their use in industry.
