Carl Zeiss Restructures

In Germany, Carl Zeiss Foundation has restructured, making its companies, Carl Zeiss of Oberkochen and Schott Glas of Mainz, joint stock corporations. In accordance with the conversion act, Schott Glas became part of Schott Spezialglas AG, which was renamed Schott AG.

According to Dieter Kurz, president and CEO, the transformation of Carl Zeiss into stock company Carl Zeiss AG was crucial to achieving its ambitious growth targets.

The foundation will remain sole shareholder of both entities.
