Canadian Firm Gains Funding for Advanced Integrated Circuits
Photonic integrated circuits developer MetroPhotonics Inc. has received a $7.7 million investment from Technology Partnerships Canada, a government agency that provides financial support to Canadian companies for research, development and precommercialization. David Clark, president and CEO of MetroPhotonics, said that the Ottawa company plans to continue integrating complex functions on a single chip, thereby offering higher performance at lower cost to equipment manufacturers. Its SurePath products simplify optical system design and eliminate multiple components and fiber connections.
