PerkinElmer Launches India Venture

BOSTON, April 26 -- PerkinElmer Inc. and Labindia Instruments Pvt. Ltd., a lab service and marketing company in India, announced today the launch of PerkinElmer India Pvt. Ltd., a direct sales, service and marketing operation targeting India's life science and analytical instrumentation markets.

PerkinElmer will hold a majority interest in the joint venture, which will be headquartered in Thane, India, with demo facilities and sales offices in Mumbai, Thane, New Delhi, Chennai, Baroda, Pune, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Kolkatta and Bangalore. PerkinElmer India will employ 180 people in direct sales, service, technical support and administration.
