Degussa and Germanium Ally to Provide Materials

A partnership to supply silicon tetrachloride (SiCl₄) and germanium tetrachloride (GeCl₄) to the international fiber optics manufacturing industry has been formed between Degussa AG of Düsseldorf, Germany, and Germanium Corp. of America in Utica, N.Y. Their intent is to furnish a single reliable source of the substances, thereby enhancing product quality and customer service. Germanium will produce GeCl₄, and Degussa will supply SiCl₄ and perform all sales and marketing services.
