Swiss Laser Firm Acquires GigaTera

In an all-cash transaction, Time-Bandwidth Products Inc. of Zurich has purchased GigaTera Inc. of Dietikon, both in Switzerland. The companies will colocate to support the existing Ergo laser product line and to develop high-repetition-rate lasers and multiwavelength source technology for next-generation telecommunications and nontelecom applications. GigaTera's technology derives its intellectual property roots from Time-Bandwidth and from the Ultrafast Laser Physics Group at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich.
