RPC Photonics Opens Its Doors
RPC Photonics Inc. of Rochester, N.Y., a producer of optical components for illumination, display and other light-control applications, has begun operations. The company fabricates continuous-tone precision-structured surfaces in various materials by optical replication, reactive ion-beam etching and ion milling.
Formerly Rochester Photonics Corp., which was a wholly owned subsidiary of Corning Inc. from 1999 to 2002 as Corning Rochester Photonics Corp., the company's team of scientists and engineers offers design and manufacturing services for the production of microstructured optical surfaces. Components may be formed of polymers, glass, fused silica, calcium fluoride and other optical materials.
