QUALCOMM Sues Texas Instruments over Patents

SAN DIEGO, July 28 -- QUALCOMM Inc., a developer of code division multiple access digital wireless technology, announced Friday it has filed suit against Texas Instruments Inc. for breach of a patent portfolio agreement the companies signed in December 2000. The agreement covers both companies' patent portfolios, providing rights to each company to supply integrated circuits on a worldwide basis for all wireless standards. The complaint, filed on Friday in state court in Delaware, seeks damages and termination of Texas Instruments' rights under the agreement.
