Joint Venture Creates OLED Operation

Optrex Corp. of Tokyo and Nippon Seiki Co. Ltd. of Nagaoka, Japan, have created Adeon Co. Ltd., which will manufacture organic LED displays to be sold solely to the parent companies. Optrex plans to provide small to midsize displays by adding organic LED technology to the present active- and simple-matrix liquid crystal displays. With its headquarters at Optrex and its manufacturing plant at the Nippon Seiki facility, the new company will begin operations in September. Ownership is shared equally between the parent firms.
