Ophir Moves, Establishes Optics Company

Ophir Optronics Inc. has relocated to an 18,000-sq-ft building in Wilmington, Mass., in support of plans for an optics manufacturing facility. A new company, Ophir Optics Inc., will produce at the site optical components for use at wavelengths of 3 to 14 µm. The facility features conventional and computer numerical-controlled-generating and -polishing systems, diamond-turning machines, coating equipment, and subassembly and test-and-measurement capability for spherical and aspherical optics. Ophir Optronics will continue to produce laser measurement instrumentation. The companies are subsidiaries of Ophir Optronics Ltd. of Jerusalem.
