New Finance, Management for UK Display Firm
OXFORD, England, March 12 -- Printable Field Emitters (PFE), a developer of cold cathode field emission display technology, announced it has received a new round of venture capital finance and has strengthened its management team.
Existing investors 3i, Quester and NIF have invested £2.5 million (about $3.94 million), bringing PFE's total venture capital funding to £10 million (about $15.75 million).
Bill Freer has been named nonexecutive chairman of the board and Ivor Thomas is PFE's new COO. Freer recently managed Philips Mobile Display Systems in Hong Kong. Prior to that he was general manager of Philips Semiconductors in Southampton, England.
PFE is working on technology to replace the cathode ray tube used in traditional TV screens with a tube that is 1 cm thick.
