Fairchild Semiconductor, OMM Announce MEMS Collaboration
SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine, Feb. 18 -- Fairchild Semiconductor announced yesterday it has signed a long-term production agreement with OMM, supplier of MEMS-based all-optical switching modules. Fairchild will supply OMM with MEMS wafers for use in optical networking applications.
Fairchild has been working with OMM to develop high-performance MEMS products for use in telecom applications. Fairchild said the agreement was predicated on its transfer of the SUMMiT IV process technology from Sandia National Laboratories in October 2001.
