Calient Networks Wins Spectra Award
SAN JOSE, Calif., Feb. 6 -- Calient Networks, a provider of intelligent photonic switching systems, was awarded the 2002 Photonics Circle of Excellence Award, presented by the editorial advisory board of
Photonics Spectra magazine, for its DiamondWave PXC photonic switch. The award was presented at Photonics West 2003 last week in San Jose.
Calient's hardware/software solution was singled out as one of 25 most technically innovative products of the year. This is the 15th year of the competition, which has honored such industry firsts and commercial successes as next-generation single-mode non-zero dispersion-shifted fiber, a high-mode dispersion management device, multiplayer mirror film technology, multiple widely-tunable lasers, a reflective spatial light modulator and a 16 million-pixel image sensor.
