Agilent Technologies Inc. said it has shipped its 100 millionth optical mouse sensor since the release of its first navigation sensor in the fall of 1999. Agilent pioneered optical sensing for mouse technology and supplies the sensors to optical mouse manufacturers worldwide. . . . Graham Humes has been elected presiding director of Technitrol, a producer of electronic components, electrical contacts and assemblies and other materials for the data networking, broadband/Internet access, telecommunications, military/aerospace, automotive and electrical equipment industries. . . . Oxford Instruments Plasma Technology supplied a GaN LED processing tool to ITE Compound Semiconductor in October for use in its LED manufacturing facility in Hsinchu, Taiwan. The equipment is used to prepare hard masks and device passivation. ITE Compound Semiconductor is a new LED manufacturing venture established by former employees of Taiwan Plasma equipment supplier.
