Red light-emitting diodes donated by GE's joint venture company, GELcore, are among the 200,000 lights decorating this year's national Christmas tree in Washington. GE Plastics of Pittsfield, Mass., donated material for 100 hand-fabricated star ornaments, and GE Consumer Products donated the design, lights and ornaments for the 50-foot Colorado blue spruce.
