Schwartz Awarded Government Contracts for Laser-Based Systems
Schwartz Electro-Optics Inc. of Orlando, Fla., has agreed to supply its Advanced Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement Systems Plus simulated combat training programs to Bechtel Bettis Nevada, Argonne National Laboratory and BWX Technologies. The products, contracted for upward of $436,000, will provide the federally mandated security agencies with military training to strengthen their role in protecting sensitive US Department of Energy sites.
Schwartz also has won a contract with the Florida Department of Transportation to provide up to 500 Autosense II units, along with maintenance and technical support. The tracking and analysis systems perform vehicle detection and classification functions, including traffic monitoring, vehicle clearance verification, routing studies, toll collection and triggering for enforcement cameras.
