General Dynamics Unit Wins Army Contract for Telecom Upgrade
General Dynamics Network Systems of Needham, Mass., has received four orders totaling $15.2 million from the US Army, which will expand its telecommunications infrastructure at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., and upgrade data networks and infrastructure at eight installations in Japan, Germany and the Republic of Korea. At each installation, the modernization will include Gigabit Ethernet technology for the data network and an improved outside cable plant. The company is a business unit of General Dynamics headquartered in Falls Church, Va., and the orders were issued under the Army's Digital Switch Systems Modernization Program.
