Luxell, Lite Array Make Black-Layer OLED Deal

TORONTO, Oct. 21 -- Lite Array, a subsidiary of Global-Tech Appliances Inc. of Hong Kong, has acquired a production license to integrate Luxell Technologies Inc.'s contrast enhancement technology for organic light-emitting diode (OLED) flat-panel display products. Lite Array will pay Luxell technology transfer fees and ongoing royalties based on display sales. No other terms of the agreement were disclosed.

Lite Array has a license from the Eastman Kodak Co. to use its small-molecule organic electroluminescent diode (SMOLED) technology to produce passive monochromatic, multicolor and full-color matrix OLED displays. The company recently announced plans to install an OLED pilot production line in its facilities in China.
