Sagitta Raises $3.5 M Round-2 Funding

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y., Oct. 21 -- Sagitta Ltd., a manufacturer process equipment for the fiber optic and semiconductor industries, announced it has raised $3.5 million from Alice Ventures in a follow-on investment to its January round of $15.3 million led by Pitango Venture Capital.

Sagitta launched its first product in fiber optics last year, the Gemini-Pi, a process system that integrates polishing, cleaning and optical metrology for fiber optic components and connectors. Earlier this year it launched its second product, the Gemini Cx.

The company's other shareholders include Pitango Venture Capital, Tamir Fishman Ventures, Ascend Technology Ventures and strategic investors such as JDS Uniphase and Orbotech.
