Srico Wins National Science Foundation Grant

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Oct. 2 -- Srico Inc. was awarded a $100,000 grant by the National Science Foundation to develop photonic band-gap optical waveguide structures in electro-optic substrates. The grant enables Srico to pursue research and development on next-generation photonic waveguide components for high-speed telecommunications networks and medical devices. This project will build upon Srico's current optical component technology.

"This NSF-supported grant will allow Srico to continue to stay at the forefront of optical device technology by extending its expertise to the new and exciting area of nanophotonics," said Sri Sriram, president and founder of Srico. "There is a real need to create smaller, faster, better and cheaper devices for all sorts of applications in telecommunications, medicine, aerospace, defense and more."
