IT to Provide DWDM System in Kwang-ju
SEOUL, Korea, August 30 -- Intelligent Telecommunications (IT) recently won a contract to provide a 10 Gb/s dense wave division multiplexing (DWDM) test-bed system for Korea's Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy for a project based in Kwang-ju.
DWDM systems transmit many different wavelengths of laser light down a single optical fiber simultaneously.
"This DWDM system will help local vendors test their products," said the IT's CTO, Juang-Hoon Ko, "and it strengthens Kwang-ju's position as a strategic center for optic component development."
