"Hyperfine WDM is capable of very narrow channel spacing, from 25 GHz to 3.125 GHz or less, enabling services such as 'Virtual OC-768' and optical GigE using individual 3.125 GHz spaced wavelengths," stated Terry Turpin, Essex CTO. "The hyperfine WDM device and Fiberspace Gridlocker combination delivers a synergy of technologies previously unavailable."
This live demonstration will show transmission of multiple OC-48 signals separated by 6.25 GHz after demultiplexing with a hyperfine WDM device. The demonstration will incorporate three Fiberspace Gridlocker ultrastable tunable lasers, each laser offering industry-leading accuracy and stability of +/-250 MHz over the laser's lifetime.
