Canadian DWDM Network Contract Goes to AT&T
TORONTO, April 11 -- AT&T Canada Inc. announced it has won a 4 1/2-year, $7 million contract to deploy a fully redundant optical dense wave division multiplexing (DWDM) network to interconnect four major data centers in the National Capital Region. The contract is from the Government Telecommunications and Informatics Services, Network and Computer Services Div. (GTIS/NCS), a branch of Public Works and Government Services Canada that provides information management and information technology services to federal government departments.
AT&T Canada will also provide ongoing management and maintenance expertise and will support GTIS/NCS in its major technology upgrade project, which involves server consolidation and implementing a storage area network.
