Lumentis, Santec Form Partnership

STOCKHOLM, April 10 -- Metro DWDM system provider Lumentis AB announced it has received $19 million in second-round funding and has formed a partnership with Santec, developer of DWDM system components and photonic products, that includes a strategic investment, research and development cooperation and the distribution of Lumentis' metro DWDM solutions to the Asian market. Existing investor Deutsche Bank Industrial Holdings AG, a subsidiary of Deutsche Bank AG in Germany, has contributed additional funds.

Santec said collaborating with Lumentis will enable it to decrease the time-to-market of new optical components and optical subsystems for metro-system applications.
