Axsys, Palomar Merge Photonics Marketing Plans

ROCKY HILL, Conn., March 25 -- Axsys Technologies Inc. and Palomar Technologies Inc. have signed a strategic marketing agreement under which they will jointly market and develop in-line automated assembly systems for the manufacture of active photonic devices such as pump diodes, tunable lasers and modulators.

"We feel this alliance leverages obvious synergies between the two companies," said Gary Wagner, president of Axsys' Commercial Products Group. Kevin C. Conlon, president of Palomar, added, "This alliance is critical toward our goal of providing the industry with true, single-source automated test and assembly systems for photonic devices."
