Tektronix to Acquire Profile

BEAVERTON, Ore., March 19 -- Tektronix Inc. has signed an agreement to acquire Profile Optische Systeme GmbH, an optical component test and measurement firm. Profile will be integrated with Tektronix' optical business, expanding the company's portfolio of products focused on physical layer test and providing the technology building blocks for future optical network test solutions. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

"While we have been consistently recognized for our performance-leading products, as an independent organization we would have had to make significant investments to grow our company to the next level," said Adalbert Bandemer, CEO and president, Profile.

"This acquisition will give Profile the resources to leverage its optical expertise into new applications as well as provide an extended global distribution channel for immediate worldwide distribution."
