Salira Unveils EPON Architecture

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Feb. 8 -- Salira Optical Network Systems Inc. announced the first carrier-class access architecture for Ethernet passive optical networks (EPON) that "delivers affordable broadband services by extending the life of existing legacy time-division multiplexing (TDM) services, while facilitating a migration to new opportunities in packet-based multiservices."
