William Naylor and Tony Ma were named Synopsys Fellows by complex integrated circuit (IC) designer Synopsys Inc. for their role in electronic design automation (EDA) technology innovation. There are five Synopsys Fellows; Naylor and Ma join their peers Robert Damiano, Brent Gregory and John Waicukauski. . . . EV Group (EVG), Austrian manufacturer of MEMS and semiconductor wafer processing equipment, has shipped and qualified the industry's first fully automated 300 mm SOI wafer production bonder to Soitec's high-volume silicon-on-insulator (SOI) manufacturing facility in Bernin, France. This is a follow-on order to EVG's 200 mm SOI bonder installations at Soitec, a thin-film SOI wafers supplier.
