Lumenis Closing Seven Facilities

TEL AVIV, Jan. 2 -- Laser device maker Lumenis Ltd. is closing seven facilities and shedding more than 200 jobs. Lumenis, formerly ESC Medical Systems Ltd., said it is completing the integration of the Coherent Medical Group on schedule with the closure of manufacturing sites in Seattle and Tel Aviv. In addition, sales offices in Norwood, Mass.; Munich, Germany; Cambridge, England; Paris; and Tokyo will be closed.

President and CEO Yacha Sutton said more than 200 employees are "completing their tenure"' as a result. "These closures are final steps in the integration of Coherent Medical Group," he said.
