TranSwitch, Samsung Form Strategic Alliance

SHELTON, Conn., Oct. 10 -- TranSwitch Corp. has formed a strategic alliance with Samsung Electronics, which named TranSwitch a preferred supplier and a strategic partner of the Samsung Network Broadband unit for development of the Korean company's next-generation networking systems.

``This agreement reinforces a long-standing relationship between TranSwitch and Samsung and represents the opportunity to align the TranSwitch roadmap with the Samsung product roadmap,'' said Santanu Das, president and chief executive of TranSwitch.

Samsung is a supplier of high-speed network equipment in the Korean market, the most highly penetrated broadband market in the world, where a majority of Internet users enjoy high-speed connections to the Internet.
