Global Crossing Ltd. said it may merge with its majority-owned Asian affiliate, Asia Global Crossing Ltd., in a move to expand its network reach and cut costs as it combats falling prices, stiff competition and weak sales. Global Crossing also slashed its growth estimate for the second time in three months and named Asia Global Crossing's chief executive to also serve as its own -- the fifth CEO since Global Crossing launched its initial public offering in August 1998.

Sonoma Photonics, Inc. (SPI) has relocated to their new 22,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility. SPI is a developer of in-house state-of-the-art capabilities for thin-film coating processes and equipment along with precision optical component fabrication to support the telecom, aerospace, and scientific communities.
