Codeon’s 12.5 Gb/s Intensity Modulator Chosen for the MultiWave CoreStream OC-192 Transceivers

COLUMBIA, MD, Aug. 7 -- Codeon Corp., a manufacturer of modulators, optical transponder components and modules for the fiber optic telecommunications industry, announced that Ciena Corp. has selected its 12.5 Gb/s Intensity Modulator, part of Codeon’s Mach-10 product family, for use within the MultiWave CoreStream product. The CoreStream 10 Gb/s WDM transceiver uses out-of-band forward error correction (FEC) requiring the additional bandwidth provided by the Mach-10 modulator.
