Military lasers have become the weapons that existed only in science fiction novels a generation ago. From blowing enemy missiles out of the sky to tracking enemy targets, the sheer numbers of laser weapons has prompted a new way of thinking within cost-minded defense agencies.
New generations of strategisits will look to commercially available lasers and tunable non-linear elements to act as sources for a growing list of lasing weapons. These new weapons systems will use lasers designed, not to maim, but to kill with a surgeonis precision.
