An international society concerned with the promotion of microscopical investigation and the improvement of the microscope as a scientific instrument. Publishes a range of microscopy handbooks; organizes frequent scientific meetings, workshops and training courses, and the Microscience International Conference and Exhibition. Also publishes a house journal, infocus, and the international Journal of Microscopy.
