Moulded Optics GmbH offers a standard line of precision-molded micro half-ball lenses from crown (n_d = 1.5230), borosilicate (n_d = 1.4730) and high-refractive (n_d = 1.62000) glass materials in diameters of 3, 4, 5 and 6 mm, with standard, truncated and extended center thicknesses. The hemisphere first surface is molded, and the plano second surface is ground and polished. Lenslet array versions of micro half-ball lenses also are available. The devices are available in small and large quantities from stock, according to the company. OEM applications include LED lighting, fiber communications, endoscopy, microscopy, optical pickup devices and laser measurement systems.
