The Thermal-Eye 5000xp camera from L-3 Communications Infrared Products employs the company’s barium strontium titanate thermal imaging technology to provide 320 × 240-pixel images. The company says that the device provides a 400% increase in pixels over the 4000M model (from 19,200 to 76,800 pixels), with twice the field of view. Suitable for mobile applications in the security, maritime and law-enforcement markets, the weather-resistant camera can monitor a full perimeter in darkness and inclement weather and can spot potential criminal activity or safety hazards up to 1500 ft away. It features a joystick-controlled 360° continuous pan, a wide tilt range, and a video-out for remote monitoring or for a VCR.
