Coherent Inc. presents PulseLife horizontal arrays, a series of diode laser packages that deliver high-power output and that have simplified water-cooling requirements. The 808-nm lasers are primarily for solid-state pumping. They come in two- or three-bar linear arrays and deliver output powers of 80 and 120 W, respectively. The macrochannel cooling architecture eliminates corrosion and enables the use of plain, filtered deionized water for cooling. Average lifetime is >20,000 h. The compact size of the laser bars and the electrical isolation of the heat sink simplify integration.
